Patrick O’Brien is the founding partner of Blizzard Partners a UK based investment and advisory boutique set up to work with a number of entrepreneurs and fund managers across a wide range of sectors. Blizzard Partners has a number of direct investments in the United Kingdom, Central Asia and Asia.

Patrick sits on a number of Advisory Boards and has acted as board member for a number of investee companies.

He is a Board member of Frugalpac an environmental packaging firm.

He is the sole financial advisor to Air Astana in its privatisation.

Prior to that he spent six and a half years as a Partner of ADM Capital LLP based in London. He joined ADM Capital in 2008 to expand the business from its roots in Asia into the Central and Eastern European markets and the CIS. He successfully raised three Private Equity Funds totalling US$550mm for the region.

Patrick joined ADM Capital from UBS Investment Bank which he left in 2007 after 20 years, originally joining Swiss Bank Corporation in 1986. He was most recently the Head of European Debt Capital Markets. Prior to this, Patrick held a number of roles at UBS including six years in Hong Kong as the Head of Asia Pacific Debt Capital Markets.

Patrick has an LLB (Hons) from University College London and is a Barrister at Law.

Charles Dunn is a partner of Blizzard Partners.

Prior to joining Blizzard Partners Charles was a partner of Linklaters LLP, an international law firm, in London, Bangkok and Amsterdam where he advised on a wide range of transactions, including project and infrastructure finance, asset finance, restructuring and insolvency, acquisition finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity, from 1996 to 2008 (originally joining Linklaters in London in 1986). From 2009 to July 2015 he was a partner of Kinstellar, an international law firm, setting up its Istanbul office in 2010 and working in Istanbul from May 2010 to July 2015. He was head of Kinstellar’s private equity practice from 2011 to 2015 and he was a member of the board of The British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey from 2013 to 2015.

Charles is also currently a trustee of the British Community Council, a UK registered charity servicing the needs of the British and Commonwealth community in Turkey.

Charles has a BA(Hons) from Worcester College, Oxford and is an English qualified solicitor.

Julia Chen is an Investment Director at Blizzard Partners, she is also a founding partner of Sunberg Capital. Her most recent engagement is an exclusive buy-side advisory mandate for the successful acquisition of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Kazakhstan.

Prior to this Julia spent four years with ADM Capital which manages USD 550mm of capital in three funds dedicated to CEE and Central Asia. Where her role was to source, structure and execute investments as well as the subsequent management of investee companies. Julia has covered a number of sectors, including transportation, telecommunication, agriculture, entertainment and real estate.

Prior to joining ADM Julia spent four years at Ernst & Young, in the Corporate Finance team.

Julia holds BA in Accounting and Finance from the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Strategic Research.

Anna Petrenko is the Administration Manager at Blizzard Partners.

Prior to joining Blizzard Partners, Anna spent four years at ADM Capital LLP as the Fund Administration Manager of ADM Capital Almaty LLP.

Before joining ADM Capital, Anna held positions as an interpreter and paralegal at a Kazakhstan insurance company.

Anna has a degree in International Law from Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages.
